Brainwashing. I wrote about this just a short while ago and I am unhappy to report it worked very well. A caller from St. Paul, Minnesota, spoke with Dennis Prager, a conservative talk show host, this morning. He said he was watching election results with his eight-year-old daughter.
“Who did you vote for, dad,” the girl asked.
“Scott Jensen.” His choice is a local doctor who ran as a Republican.
“But, dad, Scott Jensen will ban abortions.”
The fellow was so much in shock he didn’t ask his child where she got that information. He said abortion wasn’t talked about in the household, he was pretty sure she has no idea what the word means.
But the ads by Democrats were everywhere, butting in on cellphones, Facebook, four ads in a row on network TV: Scott Jensen will ban abortions. It was a brainwashing campaign, reaching even to those as young as eight. The thing is, the network fact checker said Jensen couldn’t ban abortions without the legislature, abortion is allowed under the Minnesota constitution. Never mind the facts, in Minnesota, the abortion lie ruled.
One big step for womankind – right down the slippery slope toward infanticide and euthanasia, et al. We had a peek at euthanasia here in Minnesota during the 2020 covid epidemic when 82% of covid deaths occurred among nursing home residents, including Annie Glenn, widow of astronaut John Glenn. How quickly we forget.
What is even more chilling about this are the readings for last week’s Mass, the Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time.
“For behold the day shall come kindled as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that do wickedly shall be stubble.
(Malachi, 4:1; New Catholic edition of the Holy Bible, Confraternity version, 1953).
And Luke minces no words. He writes that in speaking to His disciples, Jesus said about end times,
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be great earthquakes in various places and pestilences and famines, and there will be errors and great signs from heaven. But before all these things they will arrest you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, dragging you before kings and governors for my name’s sake…and some of you they will put to death.”
(Luke 5:10-12,16b)
There is no Jolly Jesus, folks. All those happy, happy images the progressive Catholics cling to fade into dust with Christ’s actual words. A woman I met in church one day commented that the readings of late have been “scary” and she didn’t know if she was worthy.
Are any of us worthy of the Lamb?
In the end, there is only judgment, whether or not you are Speaker of the House, the Prince of Monaco, Pope Francis, or a lowly homeless man in a tent city. I pray the election of evildoers over righteousness does not call down the wrath of God upon us.
