Is this Why the West Hates Putin? (and keeps telling us to hate him?)
Do you ever see those “meanwhile in Russia” memes on the internet or social media? They make me laugh because they depict some aspect of Russian life that is so different than ours. They are East versus West settings. For instance, this picture:
It makes me think of the old “In Soviet Russia… bear drives you!!!” jokes. So, what happened this week with Putin that gave me this same “Meanwhile in Russia” feeling? Well, let me set the Stage first…
Setting the Western Scene
I had seen a clip circulating recently and when I think about this week’s news of Putin and Trump meeting, I can’t help but to think of my post earlier this week, musing on how the meeting of Trump and Pope Francis would go.
The pictures of that meeting this week said a lot. I think for me, I was left wondering what I expected of that meeting. It didn’t seem to do much other than provide good internet memes. That’s a shame.
Then, recently I saw news that Cardinal Burke is inciting people to clamor for the consecration of Russia.
Just to iron my point in about all of this, a recent post on Aleteia about a play comprised of women writhing on a floor to orchestral settings allegedly in expression of the Stabat Mater. I hesitated to link to that story – the worst part to me is that Aleteia makes no editorial on it. They even note some interesting points such as the play first opening in Tel Aviv, a city that aspires to be the Gay Pride capital of the world.
As I’ve said before, all of this seems like outdated information. It makes me think that the entire western scene appears to be a tired replay of some dated 80’s TV drama.
Meanwhile, In Russia…
Against that backdrop of western musings, comes this tidbit of a story.
Instead, I see posted on a site that looks at geopolitics and strange things, a clip from Russia.
Meanwhile, in Russia:

This was the visit of the St. Nicholas relics to Russia. Against the backdrop of the news from the west above, including that a catholic website is unable to recognize the problem of that M Stabat Mater monstrosity, do you see why the bear in the taxi is funny? Speaking in Pope Francis’s lingo, ¿esto claro?
Is this why they tell us to hate Putin?

God’s ways are not our ways! Look at King David, St. Paul, St. Augustine many great saints had been great sinners and now we have two unlikely characters Putin and Trump. The left is furious with Trump because he is supporting life. Pure evil spouts from their mouths, yes, we know it is a baby but kill it. Dear Jesus guide Mr. Trump as he leads our country away from death toward a culture of life.
Indeed! And this “unlikely” characteristic is what the news uses to make dark clouds over it all.
Every time (which lately is very often) I see or hear some of the nonsense from the Left about Russia, I can’t help remembering fondly the movie: “The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming.” At least then I can laugh. Watch the trailer:

Hah! Perfect!
I think that because the fact that he never correct according to the demands of Western’s Ears, but correct according to God’s.
I am open to be corrected.
Putin isn’t a globalist. Unlike the American left, he believes his country and its culture should be protected from illegal criminal invaders, and that anyone who immigrates to Russia should respect Russian laws and Russian culture. While in America, the left wants to grant immigrants (both legal and illegal) special rights and privileges (like welfare and special protective status) that are not available to most American citizens. In short, Putin puts Russians first. The American left puts everyone but Americans first.
