A Case for Possession
Did the silence of our churches do this…
I believe we are dealing with the demonic in these tumultuous days. There is no other explanation for the collapse of the moral order we see around us, the utter lawlessness gripping our nation.
A man walks up behind the CEO of a healthcare company and executes him. The event is greeted with cheers. The perpetrator received love notes while in jail and people praised the killer. Why? Because health insurance companies are evil – according to the gospel of social media. The Pennsylvania governor’s mansion was torched, with the governor’s family asleep inside. The perpetrator claims to hate Josh Shapiro and was prepared to use a hammer to kill Shapiro if confronted. People are destroying Tesla vehicles and vandalizing dealerships because they hate Elon Musk for what news media stories and social media rants allege is damage to our country. It didn’t take much thought for some folks to start hammering any Tesla they could find; one fellow said he was taking such action because he hates Musk: “He’s a billionaire.” States defend men masquerading as women in sports because equity matters, even in locker rooms where it is obvious not all are the same.
None of this makes any sense, none of this seems to be civilized behavior let alone moral behavior. Perhaps there is an obvious answer in the report about a satanic Mass scheduled for the Kansas State House last month or the satanic display in the Minnesota Capitol Rotunda, across from a Christmas tree last December. The Minnesota governor cited the First Amendment as the reason for allowing the display to remain for several days. It was Christ versus the devil once again.
What the hell is going on here, or is that the bottom line, a taste of hell on earth? It seems people don’t care much about right and wrong anymore. Is it because they’ve been lured into a nowhere land where satisfying personal wants is all that matters? Is this herd mentality really an entrance level to satanic infiltration? One radio commentator described such people as “monsters” and asked why this infiltration of evil isn’t recognized for what it is. Good question.
The devil doesn’t have to be like little girls with gleaming eyes while snarling and spitting at people as in The Exorcist. There need not be horns and a tail on a red creature swinging a pitchfork or dancing on graves and doing human sacrifices in a cemetery at midnight. The devil can well be an idea infiltrating an empty mind and enticing a person into the insanity of evil we now see around us.
Ideas have power to overtake right thinking and subvert souls. Ideas can possess people. Adolph Hitler knew well how to plant ideas – the party, the party, the party – into his speeches. He could whip downtrodden Germans into a frenzy to serve “the party” which was the personification of his evil plan for rule by a master race over all the earth.
Are we on a similar path now? Are we in the midst of a sea of demonic possession?
Before the November elections, it was predicted a conservative government administration would be divisive. And like the Wizard of Oz pulling levers and switches, those in power who stood to lose their power in such a case, created the prophesied narrative via their control over media and its bias.
Words mean something and news outlets can easily slant stories with their choice of words. They can conjure up fear in people, manipulate viewers and readers with coverage of outrageous statements by officials who, like wind-up toys, spout the party line: “Everyone knows that this administration is both deplorable and inhumane.” People believe this stuff, repeat this stuff even if the source is Yahoo News where the so-called “hard news” is sandwiched between click bait stories about sad dogs or jilted lovers.
Have we learned nothing from history, from the lessons of Hitler’s propaganda blitzkrieg that convinced people to compromise with evil?
The tools of the devil are greed, power, and lust and those who would stand to lose these things are busy trying to convince us to stand up and revolt to insure control of the masses by the chosen ones who only serve themselves. It’s an evil purpose contrived by evil people and the odor of sanctity is far away from their deeds.
Indeed, the devil is real, possessing ordinary people in unthinkable ways and we can see his works swirling around us. Then why are our churches silent? Souls are at stake! People being manipulated into not only condoning sin but committing violence, theft, murder is a call to action for any faith serving the Deity. Truth must be told and lived.
Yet there is silence. Is it from fear of turning off the very souls they are trying to save because morality is only a church thing, not a day-to-day thing? Is it from fear of losing funding if one asks otherts to tread the narrow and unpopular line in the sand drawn by Jesus Christ? Is it a lack of belief in the very Deity these churches and pastors and leaders claim to represent?
It is Holy Week. Jesus Christ allowed Himself to be crucified on a cross to save us – all of us – from our sins. It’s time to take up that cross in His name and vanquish the evil one, his minions, and their wicked ideas once and for all.
