Facing New Decisions: Liquifying Our Loved Ones?
Reflecting on mortality, Christians believe in bodily resurrection, favoring burial to honor the body and express hope in an afterlife. The Church permits cremation, with respectful treatment of the remains. However, new practices like aquamation, which involve liquidating the body, are seen as lacking dignity and are thus problematic. Some local funeral homes offer this, but faithful are urged to remember the dead and pray for them.
