Archdiocese of Chicago Office Goes Full Marxist, Tags Us Pewsitters With a Target

There I was, minding my own business on a Saturday afternoon and I got on the Twitter and started seeing the statements of the Bishops regarding the incident in Minneapolis. The George Floyd tragedy. You’ve heard much about it. As the medical examiner did his work, riots have been occurring across the country. It doesn’t take my chemical engineering and law degrees to realize that planned riots organized in cities across the country in days wasn’t without serious logistics and planning, and cash

May God grant rest to the soul of Mr. Floyd. There is much controversy over the medical examination, and now the family has ordered an independent coroner examine their son’s body. That is gut wrenching.

All of that aside, I am confronted with the USCCB immediately discerning that this was an act of racism. For Heaven’s sake, do they know something in advance of the work of coroners and investigators? Does the USCCB have their own coroner up in Minneapolis? Let’s see his/her/xie report! (hat tip: Bishop Troutperson, for the inclusive pronouns) But, the statement was issued yesterday, certainly not in haste as it is very long. But, the thrust is this assertion by our collective:

Racism is not a thing of the past or simply a throwaway political issue to be bandied about when convenient. It is a real and present danger that must be met head on. As members of the Church, we must stand for the more difficult right and just actions instead of the easy wrongs of indifference. We cannot turn a blind eye to these atrocities and yet still try to profess to respect every human life. We serve a God of love, mercy, and justice.

Statement of U.S. Bishop Chairmen in Wake of Death of George Floyd and National Protests, May 29, 2020

Looking at the title of the statement, I think it is interesting that the word “wake” is in it. As you know, there is a lot of commotion that people become “woke.” Far be it from the pretentious pens not to take great pains in selecting the words of the title. I’m certain it was meant to resonate with wokeness.

ASIDE: I find it funny that for all the virtue signaling of the bishops for our safety and feigned concern for bodily health and environment that visiting the USCCB website results in a warning that the site is “not secure”… and not safe.

But, Mr. Floyd’s sudden death has become an opportunity of awakening for the USCCB’s long standing Marxist-inspired contempt for the ordinary guy in the pew. You know, you and me. That is, those of us left in the pew after the Marxist rants we’ve suffered for the past 40 years. Yes, in the USCCB statement, we do not find a cry to pray for the repose of this poor man’s soul who suffered a sudden death. We do find a plea for justice. That’s actually good — but justice requires facts, not some slipshod demoralizing propaganda. (I do use the term “demoralization” in the strictest technical sense as defined in the KGB/Stalinist active measures of subversion technical guides. Demoralization is an Alinsky tactic as well. – Paint the enemy — only you and I are the enemy)

It’s almost as if the Bishops want to blame you and me for this tragedy. Pope Francis calls us Rigid. The Bishops just think we aren’t awakened and need to be woke.

If you think I’m being rash, or that I’m escalating the external here, then we have a choice, don’t we? Perhaps, on one side, I am overreacting to that hastened statement of the USCCB. After all, they are the shepherds of the flock and need to adequately virtue signal to the world that they are relevant. On the other hand, if I am seeing this correctly, then there’d be more evidence, right?\

Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Human Dignity and Solidarity (OHDS) to the Rescue… They Flat Out Tag Us As Enemies.

Part of me wants to say this is the office into which all that Gamaliel funding and other money moving directly into counter-Catholic activities we’ve been documenting since the 90’s is going. But this is way over the top.

First, the OHDSChicago twitter account warmly greats you with a pinned tweet announcing the Laudato Si week activities…

I love that “form and accompany.” I forgot about the nuveau-oblige to “accompany” people. You should already be fuming with warm fuzzies and ready to burst into felt banner design here. right?

It’s this tweet that gets me — this, this here is some full on “wokeness”:

Tweet of the Archdiocese of Chicago OHDS

I apologize that the picture is not that clear. You see, when it’s important to hurry up and get this piece of brilliant illustration out to the public to coincide with the USCCB statement, you can’t take time to make a clear and legible diagram… lives are on the line! NOW!

Let me summarize it for you. We are “Covert White Supremacy.” There’s no escaping it because:

  • euro-centric curriculum
  • english-only initiatives (I’d settle for Polish or Greek as well)
  • “Make America Great Again”
  • Celebrate Columbus Day (I live in Alabama, we celebrate Confederate’s Day here, also)
  • Denial of white privilege

So, I want to make a bet here that my interest in the history of the Japanese empire or the Asiatic history of Byzantium and the Slavs is just not enough to overcome the “euro-centric curriculum.”

What is worse is the other things glommed onto this… Who can explain to me how speaking English is related to “Police Brutality”?

When Will the Bishops Wake?

I think maybe the Bishops should go back to catechism. It apparently doesn’t pay as well as the Marxist subversion stuff, though.

So, how does it feel to have a target placed on you by your bishops?

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us, and pray for our Bishops!

They’ve gone mad and expect us to follow their lead.

  • Julian Harper says:

Oh, John, I have known you for many years ( I was at the network for 28 ) and always enjoy your excellent work- yet I sometimes fear that a bit of the naivete of your gentle spirit may rise up in the occasional (vain) effort to give Bishops the proverbial benefit of the doubt. Wishing that they study the Catechism is indeed a truly Christian thought; yet my own dark cynicism of that august body of our Betters, tempered for decades in the heat of their hellish malfeasance, would prefer that they all be flushed out of office and our of the Church, and replaced with truly Catholic men.
I WILL, however, give them this: They can present a noble, virtuous facade of male gonads, when there is no cost to their PC image. Bishops are quick to jump on the bandwagon for anything that is both safe and popular with the secular and heathen society, They are just shy when it comes to saying anything that might be un-PC. Like quoting Jesus or something similarly unacceptable. I do expect they will have a week long conference at some point which will result in their issuing a strong condemnation of Nazi concentration camps, the forced starvation in Ukraine and the poor personal hygiene of Pol Pot. (Or would that make them feel racist-ey?)
    God have mercy on us.
