The Modern Herods

Behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.”

Matt. 2:13

House File 1 is “a bill for an act relating to health; establishing a fundamental right to reproductive health; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 145.”

Simply put, the proposed bill codifies the right to abortion. There is no gestational limit given for this ugly right, thus it applies to all stages of development of the unborn child’s life right up to birth or the process of birth. Is it really late-term abortion – beyond a certain gestational age the unborn child is viable, large-sized, and knows its mother’s heartbeat – or infanticide? Two of my daughter’s friends – normal friends with normal IQs and normal capabilities – were born at 28 weeks of gestation. Yet, for a mother who decides so late in the game that she doesn’t want a child, her 28-week pregnancy gets turned into a Dilation and Extraction procedure with a child murdered in utero – a child who might otherwise have had a good and productive life and paid state taxes. Thus, it appears to be the whim of the mother that decides life or death.

In Minnesota, the Democrats control the state legislature and the governor’s office. The ultimate campaign issue in the recent election was the “woman’s right to choose” to kill her unborn child; not rising crime, not the burning of Minneapolis after the death of George Floyd, not a level of taxation which has left the state with billions of surplus dollars. No, the primary issue we heard about was the right to kill unborn children. The ads for the Democratic candidates were repeated so often that even children repeated the phrases without even knowing what the words meant.

And the fearless leader of this death movement? Another King Herod, the Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz, who wants the state to be a destination of “choice.” But it’s choice on his terms only, another slaughter of the innocents.

The proposed legislation says:

(a) Every individual has a fundamental right to make autonomous decisions about the individual’s own reproductive health, including the fundamental right to use or refuse reproductive health care.

(b) Every individual who becomes pregnant has a fundamental right to continue the pregnancy and give birth, or obtain an abortion, and to make autonomous decisions about how to exercise this fundamental right.

What kind of “autonomous decision” is it for a woman when both sides of an issue in question are not presented, noreven allowed to be presented? In Minnesota this past summer, all restrictive laws on abortion, including informed consent, were struck down by a district court judge. Once through the door of an abortion provider, women are given no information contrary to death. Planned Parenthood does not show clients ultrasounds of the baby, even upon request. Staff claim ultrasounds are only being utilized by the medical worker to determine the gestational age of the baby so the right size tools can be used for the abortion. Pro-lifers are routinely harassed when speaking to abortion-minded women or handing out pro-life literature.

How can a woman make an “autonomous decision’ about reproductive health without information? It leaves her a victim of pressure: “You can’t have a child now”; “You can fix this”; “You didn’t want this to happen, fix it”; “Fix it”; “We can fix it.”Revealing the truth of a child’s existence is strictly forbidden.

Forget truth. Herod only wanted the Magi to tell him the location of the new King to destroy Him, to destroy a rival to his sovereignty. The Minnesota Governor and the other Herods like him – California, New York, etc. – share the same plan of destruction.

Why? Power. The law allegedly gives sovereignty of the woman over her body, Governor Walz said. He meant it locks in his sovereignty, it protects his power in his little fiefdom as it locks in votes for the giver of the so-called reproductive rights women have been brainwashed into thinking they need.

At what point will this precious right of choice to kill turn into a requirement to terminate? The stage is already set for that scenario. Increased prenatal testing is yet another segue in the battle for life. Women are convinced to be tested early in pregnancy, sent for periodic diagnostic ultrasounds to check fetal development. Are these search and destroy missions? Each result opens the door for genetic counseling. With a society biased toward perfection, the counseling is skewed to convincing people to get rid of abnormality. Many stories magically appeared on the internet after the Roe v Wade decision about how hard it was for women to get abortions because, even though they said they desperately wanted a child, the one conceived was abnormal and the parents decided they had to move on from that.

Will the Herods in power oversee a law requiring the knife for any unborn child with an abnormality? Or a perceived abnormality? Or on any child, for any reason, because the Herods hold the power and can so decree?

There is no way to describe the evil around us and the web of lies in service to this evil.

For example, first, there is a blatant lie in the actual proposed bill:

Every individual has a fundamental right to make autonomous decisions about the individual’s own reproductive health, including the fundamental right to use or refuse reproductive health care.

A separate individual being was created from the union of male sperm and female ovule, it is not a part of the female individual’s body under her control, but something added within her space, which she, in fact, allowed. You can say this separate individual has no rights, but that does not address the fact this separate individual exists. The female individual, host, if you will, cannot be two sexes, have two separate RH blood factors, or two differing numbers if chromosomes. To be more explicit, a genetically male individual with a differing RH factor and carrying a trisomy such as Down Syndrome is separate in genetic make-up from the female individual carrying it. That means there are two individual beings present and one cannot make choices, particularly ones harmful in nature, against the other.

Second, a local job training/sheltered workshop agency sent out their monthly newsletter recently. There, in full color, was a picture of two newly elected pro-choice state legislators. It was a happy, happy photo op, the legislators posing with obviously physically and mentally challenged people – the very type of people these pro-choice legislators will likely vote to terminate before before birth.

Lies. Herod lied to the Magi. Our modern Herods are lying to us, they do not serve and protect us. They are serving themselves and their will to power.

God will not be mocked. After the flood, He promised He would never destroy the earth again by flood. But that didn’t mean He, who created the heavens and the earth, cannot use His creations – climate, Mother Earth, the tempest, and fire, all those things the evildoers worship – for a surgical strike: rain, floods, snow, tornadoes, earthquakes, hellfire.

The Lord and Giver of Life will not be mocked.

I agree with you wholeheartedly regarding your article. The only wording I disagree with is, “…paid state taxes.” To me, taxes are anathema and should only be a bare minimum. Our Founding Fathers hated taxes and felt government should raise funds through fees and tariffs. I am in full agreement. Any tax should be temporary and sunsetted after a minimum of time. Thankfully, in my former home state of Texas, a state income tax cannot be brought forward in the state legislature. This was passed and placed in the Texas State Constitution.
I love it because it makes former San Antonio “Boy King” Mayors, Henry Cisneros and Julian Castro show wat ignorant fools they are really.
